Excited: Memoirs Tracklist Revealed! Next Single is Foreigner Cover

Foreigner's Mick Jones can start ordering caviar and Champagne again: Mariah Carey is releasing her own gospel-tinged version of his masterwork song, "I Want to Know What Love Is."

It's the first "real" single from her new album following the summer release of the witty "Obsessed," which is also included on "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel." The album and the single hit the world on Sept. 29th.

I heard the Foreigner song yesterday along with all of "Memoirs" and let me tell you: Mariah's got a hit on her hands along the lines of "Emancipation of Mimi "The hour-long CD is ballad-centric. Written and produced with The Dream and Tricky (I know, but these are their stage names), "Memoirs" boasts a lot of singles. Starting with the Foreigner song is a canny move in these uncertain times. By the time its run is over, a new generation will think "I Want to Know What Love Is" is a Mariah Carey song.

Mick Jones, who wrote it, should start picking out some nice new cars thanks to Carey. The money should come rolling in quickly.

The other songs on the album – these are the titles, although the running order is still being finalized: "Betcha," "Obsessed," "H.A.T.E.U.," "Candy Bling," "Ribbon," "Standing O's.," "Impossible," "It's a Wrap," "Inseparable," "Up Out My Face," "More than Just Friends," and "Angels Cry."

Several of these are radio ready. "Angels Cry" is an honest-to-god ballad a la "Vision of Love," and should be a gigantic success. "Standing O's" also has potential, as do "H.A.T.E.U." – which stands for "having a typical emotional upset" – and "Inseparable."

Def Jam's L.A. Reid – who previewed the CD for the first time yesterday with a clutch of staffers – is playing with the order, to get it right. But he really can't go wrong. Carey's album, is, as they used to say, "what the kids want." Plus, it's got stuff for the slightly older crowd. I loved the doo-woppy "It's a Wrap." And the Foreigner track is so powerful, it's going to be everywhere.

Good news, too: no more songs about Eminem. One was plenty.

So, by the end of September we'll have new CDs from Whitney and from Mariah. They're each top notch and different from each other enough that their fans should want them both. Maybe we'll see a return to record stores (we have but a few in Manhattan now) and diva duels on radio if programmers are smart.

Nick Cannon: Trust me, if I put out a diss record y'all would know!

Ok so yesterday a so-called Nick Cannon diss record that was a response to M&M(we don't eat candy) hit the web. First off it sounds nothing like Nick. And it's not Nick! Second off, Just shows you how fake and inaccurate MediaTakeOut is.(look for it i'm not posting it here) Why would they post something that they know darn well is not real! And what makes it even worse people was actually believeing that it was Nick!Lol ridiculous! Nick recently tweeted lastnight "Trust me, if I put out a diss record y'all would know!". True. Nick would i'm sure put it on his Official website.(NickCannon.com) It really shows you what media/bloggers would do to keep things going you know. And i bet the person who actually did the diss record probally has a big head, when really he looks like a fool! Come on now, Nick would have went way harder! IMO. But let's cut to the real Nick Cannon is bigger than that and will not respond to that Obsessed, confused, heartbroken, lost lil boy. Nick knows that candy boy is only mad because Nick married his dream girl. If Mimi did have something going on with M&M at one point he prob had big dreams of his own with her..but too bad she must had figured out his ways and kicked him to the curve. Aww, poor baby.Lol And now he's mad because she's happily married and he's well, lonely and bitter. a typical hater just hatin. Nick has so much going for himself and should not waste one moment of his time on that bs. Ignoring hurts em the most. Because they know you don't give one smack of what they say. And it's not making you loose one sec of sleep at night.(next to the most beautifulest woman in the world): ) So people that are steady making up ish & trying to keep this whole so-called beef(fued) going. You are only wasteing your time because the Cannons Ain't gon' feed you, they gonna let you starve. But on the otherhand Mariah's current single Obsessed is doing pretty good on radio and sales. ; ) Lambs keep on streaming, voting, and requesting. : )

Whatever: 'Diva' Carey exhausted staff on talent show

America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan was left exhausted after Mariah Carey's guest appearance on the show - because the singer forced production staff to work around the clock to make sure her "three-minute" appearance was perfect.

Earlier this month, the pop superstar appeared on stage during an episode of the hit TV show, which is hosted by her husband Nick Cannon, to belt out her new single 'Obsessed.'

Carey wowed the judging panel - which also includes David Hasselhoff and Sharon Osbourne - with her pre-recorded performance.

But Morgan admits the spectacular rendition came at a price, because Carey had to make sure every tiny detail was perfect before she would let TV bosses air the footage.

"She's such a perfectionist. We were all in the studio until nearly midnight as she planned her three-minute appearance, right down to the detail of the lighting, sound and camera angles. And work with producers in the editing suite apparently continued to 6 a.m. until she was absolutely happy. Mariah has the reputation of a diva. But like most divas - from Piaf to Whitney Houston to Madonna - that's primarily because she'll do whatever it takes, however long it takes, to get things as good as they can be," said Morgan.

Mariah Rehearses for Vegas Shows

Mariah was in Los Angeles, CA rehearsing for her Las Vegas concerts (Sept. 11-12 and Oct. 9-10) with her tour choreographer Debbie Allen. Debbie posted the following messages on her Twitter page on Sunday, August 16:

Mariah Revs Up New CD, Returns to Powerhouse PR

Mariah Carey–despite idiotic postings elsewhere–is gearing up for her big new CD release.

Mariah feels so strongly about "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" that she's even re-hired the PR powerhouse that made her second-stage career such a success. She's back with Cindi Berger of PMK HBH. It was Berger who made her "Emancipation of Mimi" the biggest hit of Mariah's career. Smart move.

Of course, that means both Mariah and Whitney Houston are now being repped by the same PR company. PMK's Kristen Foster is handling Whitney with my old pal, Jill Fritzo.

"Memoirs" was scheduled for an August 25th release, then moved to September 15th. Now it's set for September 29th. If the regular Grammy deadline had been in place–September 30th–Mariah would have made it. But the unfortunate early deadline of August 31st cut her off. So she has some slack time to get "Memoirs" just right.

The first single from Mariah's CD will not be "Obsessed"–that was just a summer trifle, and it was a lot of fun. The real first official single is said to be a powerhouse ballad along the lines of "Vision of Love."

Why Is Mariah Carey Canceling Events?

Reports that Mariah Carey has rescheduled several upcoming appearances has left many fans wondering if something might be wrong with the singer.

Carey, 40, had been tentatively set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Aug. 25, perform on Today Aug. 28, and also tape an episode of VH1's Storytellers.

But the singer's publicist Cindi Berger tells PEOPLE there is no reason for concern: "These dates have been postponed and not cancelled," she said Friday.

A source says the singer is completing her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, the release of which has been pushed to Sept. 29.

"Record release dates change all the time," Berger confirms. "It's nothing unusual and it doesn't signal anything. There are a lot of moving parts to Mariah's professional life... She's making sure the record is how she wants it to be and it's no big deal."

In addition to working on her album, Carey is launching another perfume line and promoting her upcoming film, Precious, which is produced by Oprah Winfrey and opens in November.

The reason for the calendar re-jiggering is explained further on Carey's official Website: "Mariah is putting the finishing touches on her newest album, and we have shifted all of our TV and promo appearances to coincide with the new release date of September 29th. We can't wait for the fans to hear the new album!!"

Mariah Carey: 'Obsessed' is definitely not a flop

Despite continuous claims that Mariah Carey's new single 'Obsessed' is a flop, the single has been rising steadily at iTunes and continues to gain airplay impressions nationwide. The song originally debuted at number 11 on Billboard's Hot 100, then dropped to number 20 and climbed back to number 17 last week.

This column was one of the first that heralded the single as a flop, but we put our foot down way too soon. When a single by a big artist is first released, the die-hard fans buy a lot of copies the first week. Thus, Mariah had a huge spike of sales that made her debut at number 11.

After first week sales level off, the song either drops completely off the charts or drops and slowly climbs its way back up if the rest of the general public like the song. After dropping out of the top 20 in iTunes, Mariah has made her way up to as high as number 14. It is quite possible that the song will rise up to the top 5 again on iTunes. Mariah will most likely score another top ten single.

Despite our admitting that we called "flop" way too early, it is still obvious that Mariah is in need of a makeover. The song isn't the huge number one smash people expected and several fans and non-fans have said they are growing tired of Mariah's hoochie mama act. In any case, Mariah is making more money than all the people reading this column put together so perhaps we should just let her be.

America ’s Got Talent/ Mariah’s Appearance Experience

Ok so my experience had a very rocky start but finished with a Big BANG!

When I heard I had first won the tickets I was super excited. I immediately text everyone to let them know I had won.

The first person I invited was a fellow HBFlyer Lexi to see if she would like to go, but unfortunately she couldn’t go because she had a family reunion to attend. So then I had to invite a few potential others who I knew at least liked Mariah because I didn’t want to be with someone who didn’t care about MC.

The second person I invited was a friend who I though really did want to go. She sounded excited all the days leading up to the actual day and then the bad news came. She literally called me the day of the show with lots of random excuses I guess to get out of it like: “ummm my car is having problems”, “I’m broke”, “I may be going out of town”, and when I confronted her and asked her to answer me with an honest response if she wanted still would like to go she just told me “I am just not felling it anymore”. As soon as she told me this I was extremely crushed. I began to cry, heck I went into the ugly cry. I was clearly bummed and disappointed. How can she tell me all these other days she was down for going… and in the actual day she backs out on me? Ugh it was so not cool. I knew I could have just gone by myself but the car, like my second friend I invited; it was so NOT reliable to make it all the way to LA. So I began to thinking just started to thinking or even take the Amtrak down there but when my friend called me it was already 2pm and I was running out of time. I started to even start thinking that maybe I just shouldn’t just go all together. But I did so want to go. So I started to look online for Amtrak fares and schedules just in case if I had to, I was literally ready to book a train ticket but was interrupted by a text message.

I got a text from one of my sorority sisters, Vanessa, who had not gone to the conference meeting in Texas like I though and she asked me what I was doing. I called her and let it all out. I vented with her. I told her how my friend has completely flaked on me. And she knew what to say to make me feel better. Gosh I gotta just love my sorority sisters because they are always there for me regardless. And before I knew it she said she would be down if I still wanted to go. And of course I said yes. Yay I was going!!! Third time is a charm I guess for my third guest.

By 3:30pm we were on the road down to LA from Fresno . The whole 3 hours and 30 mins drive was not so bad. We of course had a blast just having our girl talk, blasting Obsessed a couple thousand times and so we seem to get their fast. By 7:00pm we were there at CBS studios and we parked the car.

As soon I got there was a Lamb, Blanca aka mimilover24 on twitter, recognized me and shouted my name. She needed help the girl had accidentally left/locked her keys in her car. And I guess the security guys there were so NOT helpful saying we don’t do that. Lucky for her we had AAA and we called them. Amazingly the AAA guy arrived within 15 mins and opened the car for Blanca. So after the AAA drama I kicked it with Blanca and her sister who were both cool peeps. I joined them in line and it was pretty cool because we went to line up and we were ushered to the front of the line… Yay VIP with HBF. While I was in line I noticed “Jimmy Kimmel” Kelly, Boogie, Nathan, and his cousin Ruthie were all there. I have been to many other events were I have seen them but I would always been too timid to say hi before, but this time I did introduced myself and said “Hi”. Everyone seems so nice and welcoming. Gotta love the Lambs I met in line

Being in line was kinda frustrating because they kept on moving us around, saying HBF move here, ok now move back and so on they were so NOT organized which drives me crazy. But anyway, I was glad that when we were getting checked in. I was not so glad they too my cell phone away. Of course I was going to get it back after the show but that would mean I would be able to text lambs to meet up with them after the show or send tweet pics or updates to the lambs back at home like I had promised. Grrr. What made it worst not having my phone was the 4 hour wait, yes I said 4 hour wait before we were even allowed in was the fact that I depend on my cell for everything. To check my twitter, emails, texts, bank accounts, HBF boards, take pics, and calls. I was starting to I thought it was going to be impossible to get through with out my cell but it was no so hard. While we began the long wait just sitting around with fans in an outside waiting area in front of a Bob Barker ‘Price Is Right’ mural and I just started chatting it up with the Lambs and even started to quiz the Lambs in training all around me. That really helped time fly by. While sitting I started looking around and I then noticed Marcos sitting right behind me, with his guest who was apparently Swiftymc who I didn’t realize it was him until after I read his thread. I think I said “Hey” but not really understanding it was him. So my bad Swiftymc. Other Lambs I met was a Jackie from the O.C. and Terry. It was nice finally getting to meet Terry, because she is as nice as she appears to be on the boards, heck I take that back she is even nicer in person. Terry you ROCK never change your ways!!!

Ok so fast forward the long wait, it was about 11:40pm when we were finally allowed to go inside to the actual studio, they were sitting all HBF lambs together in but that quickly filled up so they ushered me and my sorority sister to 4th row seats which sucked because we had to stand to see the stage But I stayed in those seats like for 5 mins then Blanca the Lamb I had helped out with the AAA had FRONT ROW seats and some people left so the 2 seats next to her had become open so she told me and my sorority sister Vanessa about this and I hella ran throws those seats. Front Row seats were hella better. I could clearly see the stage with out having to stand. Anyway soon after we moved to the FRONT ROW seats they started prepping us on how to stand up and when to cheer, this was so killing the “so-called live tv” for me.

But soon none of that mattered because they said Mariah was in the building and just a few mins away from performing. All the Lambs had let out a huge roar after hearing this. We all waited patiently until we seen Nice in like a big crane over the audience who introduced MC. Then of course we all stood as MC walked out. Mariah was wearing a one should black tee and some capri jeans with some nice black heels. She was wearing her hear up in a pony tail and she looked oh so BEAUTIFUL!!! Her performance of “Obsessed” was AMAZING!!! Her vocals were GREAT. She defiantly did her thing. Her dancers were HOTT (Terry I am still so jealous) they did a little number where they all danced around MC and even at one point picking her up. MC’s “Obsessed” performance was just AWESOME good for being the first time to Mariah to perform her song. After her performance she they had us do a few more stand ups cheering moments like for the ending of Mariah’s performance.

Finally, the best moments that made my night was Nick then walked on stage to join Mariah and he praised her, which was nice and then Mariah had cute moments where she punched him in his gut, kicked up her heels, grabbed his chin and they even kissed. This was too cute because it all seemed to be just for the Lambs so we were all eating it up. And then the funniest moment Nick and Mariah started to walk off stage heading back stage when Nick wrapped his arm around her waist and MC started to do the same but then she SHOCKED us all by grabbing Nick’s butt. Nick’s reaction was priceless… he literally like “Baby not here…” LOL. Too cute. Perfect ending to my long day.

Overall, INCREDIBLE day. I love the whole experience; though a little bleak, a little bleak at times (mainly the wait…) I was so glad to have the Lambs around to entertain one another. I will post the pics I took with Terry & Blanca after the show soon.

When I first uploaded this video in response to Eminem's "Bagpipes from Baghdad", I've gotten lots of comments from Em's fans saying horrible things about Mariah. But, what would I expect? Definitely they will keep on defending their own "Hero". What really had bothered me was those nasty comments onto my youtube page saying "you're the one who's OBSESSED"..blah blah blah.. But gladly, there was an Em fan who approched me in a nice way. He told me:

"Wow Eminem was just joking around and stuff. He makes fun of celebrities thats what he does and its funny. Calm down lol. I know you all think he's a huge asshole but there are also other sides of him too . You should check out songs like beautiful,mockingbird and Hailies song there are more songs like that but i dont remember right now : ) I just wanted to make that clear, i know he went hard against mariah on Bagpipes from Baghdad song but it's just showbiz. fans expect diss tracks from Eminem so he made that all for fans. I dont think that was like a personal attack against Mariah. The video was good you just let everyone know how you feel. i just didnt want everyone to think Em is always an asshole"

Believe it or not, I was convinced. I know you guys are going to hate me but i said to him:

"Yah, i know, even mariah did not take that personally.. They just both have to make their songs very commercial coz it's effective for the listeners... Finally, a nice Eminem fan approached me.. I appreciate you... :)Sorry for my vid, but i was just doing my job for my fellow MC fans who hate Em... Honestly, when i was doing that vid ..I was so pissed with Em..but as time goes by.. I was like "ok.. they're just doing it for the listeners impact" I understand now...... :)"

When "The Warning" was released, this time, I'd be so numb if tell to myself it's not personal to Eminem. So, again, I decided to make a video to reach the Eminem fans who are actually celebrating because they think their Slimey got killed Mariah through his song. I just wanna let the vid speak for itself. Sorry lambs, if this is not the typical vid that i was making (festive), cause I've chosen to make it "little dramatic, little dramatic" with a a little surprise though. Hopefully you like it. Eminem Sends Mariah Defamatory "Warning"

Eminem we believe you.

Over the last 10 years, I've heard both sides of the story.

I really believe that you and Mariah had something going on at some point. I am not suggesting that I know how serious things got. I'm not saying that I believe your accounts that you and Mariah were intimate. I wasn't there. And Dude, that is not my business. I don't need or want to know.

But you can't take it personal that Mariah denies that you had a relationship. You have to be careful about how you approach this. Mariah has successfully depicted you as a psychopath, and you continue to feed into it.

After denying that you guys ever dated, Mariah released a song and video that claimed that someone is "Obsessed" with her. She put just enough info in the song to make people suspect that you are the obsessed person.

Em, Mariah's "Obsessed" is a great video, and it worked.

Then what do you do? You fall into the trap. You blow up. Go nuts and release "The Warning" that says admittedly embarrassing things about yourself as a means to prove the nature of your relationship with Mariah.

You threaten to release photos and audio tapes as further proof.

Eminem, let me say this again, "WE BELIEVE YOU."

Please relax. Mariah and her girlfriends are giggling about Crazy Boy (that's you) and sipping champagne.

She will deny everything until the end. She can do this in her sleep. She's got a solid poker face.

Even though you are upset that high class, superstar Mariah Carey won't admit that she hung out with the kid from the 8 mile, you don't have to resort to divulging such personal business.

The lower you drop the bar, the more indecent it makes you look. You are still a guy who is publicly defaming a woman. That never goes over well.

Em, to tell your circle of friends about you and Mariah is one thing. That is bad enough. But to make a record describing the details of your relationship with a woman and then put her name on it is not cool.

At the end of the day, Mariah is still a woman. Despite how much she upset you, you don't need to take it there. You have a daughter that I know you love more than anything. The last thing you want is for some guy to ever show your daughter such a public display of disrespect.

Marshall, it does not matter that Mariah won't admit to seeing you.You've done good for yourself. It's really no big deal. Why does the public need to know who you have dated anyway?
