From the get go,you could hear the pain in her voice. Mariah overcame her fears towards the end and delivered a very honest and fitting tribute to the king of pop.Mariah has been performing nearly 20 years professionally, travels constantly, promotes by doing interviews and much more and has the dreaded nodules (which can swell at times). She soldiers on,through good and bad.She is strong.Mariah has weathered the storm.
YouTube comments can get us down at times,I no longer read them.I'm stronger though for it,I've heard it all.Be strong,it was all about honor of Michael, not a talent showcase or who could steal the show, that is why it was a great night.I felt a couple of performers tried to upstage the others or plug themselves."I'll be there" was replied on several news channels, after the memorial had ended.
Some haters or even fans were ungrateful because MCC has been performing "I'll be there" since '92,and they always want to compare it to previous performances, which is extremely unfair.Mariah is human, that is why we feel so close to her.
Press have been quite positive so far. It's just lifeless people who feel they have the expertise on what is right and wrong for MCC. If anything, many people will realize the humility of Mariah. She is not a diva, like many say. She is an honest person.
Also it won't affect sales, mainly because that material/style is no longer her direction/current sound. For nearly 2 decades. Mariah has proved she can sing(and she still can). But MCC now is a more complete artist and has more control over direction.
Mariah's career is based on 2 decades of persistance, talent and passion. It is not based on one song. When Michael Jordan played for the Wizards in hi 2nd comeback, there were night's when he didn't do well, and they say he isn't what he use to be.But did those negative comments and peoples opinion get the better of him ? No. At 39,40 he would give what he had just like MCC.
What I'm saying is when your great, people always judge you by your standards.

Mimi did great. Her emotion was beautiful. She should not fret at all.
I don't even look on you tube comments anymore the hate is strong. It may click to people later. some people just like to be negative. MC is the best and she will prevail. She really did Michael and herself proud. Don't fret over the madness. A lot of it is jealousy that she was there. She was his friend and did him proud. I loved the emotion and vulnerability.
She has God, her husband family, friends and GOOD fans. forget the rest. They are just a test, They keep pushing and it makes her stronger.
Tomorrow will be a better day. More people will get over her performance. They just need to catch up with how good it was.

I've been a fan for 19 yrs thru all the stuff she went thru so believe me Ive heard some horrific things people have said but the best thing about it is she's always proven them wrong some way or another and she's gonna continue to do that as long as they're laughing in her face and saying ignorant ish bcause they're so pathetically insecure sitting behind a monitor hiding their faces while she continues to make an impaction this sad world one song at a time. I cried earlier reading some o their ish but as she said, it makes her love us even more
