Mariah's Sina Korean Interview

Transcript

"I think we have a plan to have a world tour but I'm not sure where we're going or what we're doing yet. I want to do something really special because I've never been to certain places and I may do something that would be very different so I can't tell too much about it but yeah. Probably in January."

"It depends on what type of song the Chinese fans want to hear. I'm sure there are different types of fans. There's a song 'Up Out My Face' that maybe younger people might like. It's funny, it's got a really good beat, it's got a remix that's coming out soon and I like it a lot. Another song called 'More Than Just Friends' that's kind of the same kind of thing but these songs you have to listen to very carefully to hear the words and to see why they're funny. It's kind of like how 'Touch My Body' was. You had to really listen hard to figure out what it was saying. I don't know if that was a hit in China but they told me it would be cute so I don't know. And if someone wants to hear a sexy, love, sensual song I would recommend 'The Impossible' that's my favorite one of those. If someone is going through a break-up relationship and they want to hear a ballad that's, sometimes you just want to hear a sad song, and this one is called 'H.A.T.E.U.' but really the meaning is I can't wait to hate you because I still love you. That's what it is."

"I like doing cover songs but I really consider myself a songwriter first. That's who I am and if all I did was an album of cover songs I don't know, I'm not sure how the record company would like it. Maybe they would like it, maybe they wouldn't. I don't know. But I don't know how I would feel about it 'cause I wouldn't get to express myself. It would be quick. I could do it in like two months so maybe that's good."

"I've done things that are Rock-leaning. I grew up singing Jazz. My mother was an opera singer but she sang Jazz as well as a lot of different types of music. Maybe I would do Jazz down the line because I do love like standards I'm talking about not really obscure Jazz."
