- Role: She plays Mrs. Weiss, a New York social worker who helps teen mom Precious, played by Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe. And thanks to director Lee Daniels, Carey is downright dowdy.
- She's got the look: At a Toronto Film Festival party for Precious, Carey was told that an audience member could not figure out what role Carey played because she was so unrecognizable. The pop star was pleased. "Thank God!" Carey told USA TODAY. "Lee lives to make me homely. He loves it. ... He put dark circles under my eyes," said Carey, who also has a hint of a mustache in the film.
